JIUJITSU HISTORY

"In the north of India, some 4,500 years ago, the prince Sidharta Guatama was born, called Saquia Muni (solitary prince), who was later known as Buddah (The Illuminated), giving origin to the religion that took his name, Buddhism.
His followers, monks from faraway monasteries, in order to propagate their faith and engage in commerce to survive, were obliged to make long walks along roads infested with thieves, and due to the impossibility of using weapons for their defense-it being against the morality of their religion-the monks were constant victims of assaults that sometimes cost them their lives. These monks were then forced to create an effective way of resolving the problem. Greatly knowledgeable of the human body and of physical laws like action and reaction, leverage, moment of strength, centrifugal force, inertia, etc., they were without a doubt the true creators of Jiu-Jitsu, the most effective science of fighting in the world, which has defense as its essential principle.
With the death of Buddah, Sidarmamprivia Privadarcen (known as King Asoca) took power, spreading the preaching of Buddhism, and consequently of Jiu-Jitsu, throughout Asia. In this way, going down to Siam, Burma, Thailand, Tibet, and later China, he created in his trajectory innumerable fighting modes based on the science of Jiu-Jitsu, until finally reaching Japan around 2,000 BC, where after separating from religion, it had great impulse, multiplied, and eventually gave rise to the Samurais and Martial Arts.
In feudal Japan, Jiu-Jitsu was comprised of 113 distinct styles, which included the use of the body, hands, arms, legs, feet, and diverse weapons of the epoch, all of that with the use of physical laws, giving rise to this science from which nowadays only 64 styles are know by a few Grand Masters.
In 1886, a North American squad, under the command of the brigadier general White Perry, arrived in Japan and in a friendly way opened the doors of Japan to the world. The North Americans, thirsty for the knowledge of the science of Jiu-Jitsu. It then became registered in the Japanese penal code that teaching this science to foreigners was a crime of treason. The secrets of the science of Jiu-Jitsu was taken to the mountains of Kosen. The Master Jigoro Kano was the chosen one. He developed the Jiu-Jitsu techniques of unbalancing and throwing, creating what was at the that time called "Jiu-Jitsu" in order to trick foreigners, later it was called Kano Jiu-Jitsu, and in 1890 it was denominated Judo, with the founding of the Kodokan."

MACHADO JIUJITSU
The Machado Brothers have developed their system of Jiu-Jitsu (gentle art) over the last 25 years. The Jiu-Jitsu they learned in Brazil has been refined by their clan into a modern and unique style which is increasingly popular in the United States. Chuck Norris has called Machado Jiu-Jitsu "the style of the '90s."

Emanating from Brazil, their family has demonstrated the effectiveness of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in many "no rules" tournaments. The Machado Brothers, advancing their spirit of a top-quality fighting style tempered with humility and friendship, have kept away from these types of violent and decisive exhibitions. They have demonstrated their superiority on the mat, winning numerous Brazilian championships and national and world titles in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Russian sambo and even western wrestling. The system is rooted in one-on-one ground fighting, achieving superior position for joint locks, chokes and strikes.

Since basing themselves in the United States, the Brothers have continued to develop their grappling style, branching out into all styles of grappling in search of new techniques and concepts. The numerous victories of the Machado Brothers are amplified by the success of their American students. The Machado team has won more medals than any other American-based team and boasts five American-born and trained black belts, all top international competitors.
The Machados' philosophy is not to prove or impose their system onto other styles or martial artists. Their main concern is to share what they have, always with their minds open for new ideas. This attitude has helped the Machados' to establish themselves in the martial arts community and given them many friends and followers. Their attitude of balance is reflected not only in the way they fight, but also in the healthy lifestyle they have adopted since childhood.
